In 2021, EWP is focused on strengthening our community support by hosting Friend-raise for The 500 events. These informal events are free and bring together our EWP staff and board to share the why behind our work…helping survivors heal. We ask each attendee to help us meet the challenge of 500 individuals committing to a recurring gift of $20 a month. Become a member of The 500 yourself, or invite your personal and professional circles to connect to a cause that changes lives.

We know that there is still much we can do in our community to reach those affected by domestic and sexual violence, and we are leading the way. Getting a survivor from post-abuse to autonomy is an enormous undertaking….on the part of the survivor and on the part of the community. Every Woman’s Place is the critical link to the resources, skills, support, and strategies that strengthen individuals and families, and our growing corps of recurring donors is the key to creating the spaces and places where we can meet victims where they are and provide services that cultivate courage in the face of violence.

The 500

EWP is here with crisis response and transformative recovery services for anyone affected by domestic or sexual violence. Join ‘The 500’ to honor courage in the face of fear, to create a space for healing, and to help survivors reclaim their lives. EWP is challenging 500 individuals in our community to commit to a recurring pledge of $20 a month to change a life after trauma. When you join The 500 today, you’ll be automatically invited to our next “Friend-raise for The 500” event. See our events calendar for details on these regular “friend-raisers” plus upcoming dates and locations!

2020 Event Video

On July 23, EWP celebrated survivors with a virtual event with the theme ‘Strengthen’. We highlighted not only the impact of EWP in the community, but also put the focus on the survivors that EWP has served for the last 45 years. Our services are critical to healing the trauma of domestic and sexual violence and strengthening  individual survivors, their families, and this community as a whole.

The event featured a panel discussion among community leaders, an online auction, and a celebration video with survivor success stories, and an extended interview with Ms. Beverly Geyer, EWP’s first Executive Director. Ms. Geyer shares stories of the very beginnings of the agency, as well as the challenges and changes she’s seen over 45 years.
